Goole’s Help the Homelezz received a generous food donation from Pickards Butchers to help them feed families in need this Christmas.

Volunteers from Help the Homelezz visited Pickards Butchers in Goole on December 18 to collect the donation of meat joints and pork pies which, together with food hampers supplied by Help the Homelezz with support from Mission Trinity, were handed out to families across Goole in time for Christmas Day.

Butcher Dave Pickard said: “We try to give something to charity every Christmas because it’s the time for giving back and there are so many people in need of support.”

Help the Homelezz founder Mark Penn added: “No one should struggle this time of the year and Help the Homelezz is not just about helping the homeless. We receive an incredible amount of help from Mission Trinity and the team are very grateful to the food bank. We would also like to thank all our volunteers for the hard work and to everyone that has made some kind of donation. Without all these people we could not do what we do.

“On behalf of Help the Homelezz we wish everyone a happy New Year. If any families are struggling over the festive season and need extra food, please do not hesitate to contact us via our social media page.”
